Dimitra completed her undergraduate studies at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. After receiving a degree in Psychology, specializing in Cognitive and Experimental Psychology, she decided to continue her academic education abroad. Alongside her postgraduate studies in the field of Clinical Neuropsychology at the University of Bordeaux, she worked in major hospital institutions in France.
For the past year she has been working on her PhD thesis at the Pedagogical Department of the Democritus University of Thrace, while she is professionally active and lives permanently in Alexandroupolis. A member of the LeCogn research group, she is participating in a funded research project, which studies the cognitive development of children in the age range 3-17 years old. At the same time, as an active member of ELPSE, she works at the Journal of Psychology as an Editorial Assistant.
Her research interests focus on the study of executive functions, language and Theory of Mind and how these develop and interact. The aim of her PhD thesis is to formulate a unified theory that can comprehensively explain the development of cognitive and social skills, treating human intelligence as a multidimensional concept.
Dimitra is a lecturer in Cognitive Psychology at ICPS, giving lectures in the first and second year and in the postgraduate Psychology programme.
