Dimitris is a retired Lieutenant General, Psychiatrist, Child Psychiatrist, Psychoanalyst (Epsychiatrist), Graduated from the Military Medical School (1965). He specialized in Psychiatry (1969-1973) at the Aegineteion Hospital and in Child Psychiatry (1977-1979) at the Allan Memorial Institute and at the Montreal Children’s Hospital of Mc Gill Univeristy in Montreal, Canada.
He was Director of the Psychiatric Clinic of the 251 GNA (1987-1991). He holds a doctorate from the Faculty of Medicine of the Democritus University of Thrace. He has studied psychoanalysis, group analysis and family therapy in Greece.
For many years he has been teaching Leadership Psychology and Stress Management at the Air Force War College (SADIEP) and the Higher Transcendental War College (ADISPO). He teaches in the training program of the Hellenic Society for Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy and the Society for Group Analysis and Family Therapy.
She has authored articles in scientific journals on Clinical Psychoanalysis, Group Psychology, Psychoanalysis and Literature, as well as on the human factor in the airplane accident. He has presented related papers at psychoanalytic and psychiatric conferences. He has also been actively involved in initiatives for public dialogue on Psychiatry/Psychoanalysis and Religion. He works privately as a psychoanalyst for adults, children and adolescents, as a group analyst and as a couple and family therapist.
