Evangelos Kanavitsas

Evangelos is a psychologist with specialization in Person-Centered Approach and a Master’s degree in Applied Psychology. Since 1996 he has been employed successively in the following positions: He attended the outpatient psychiatric clinic of the Prefectural Hospital of Karditsa, was a member of the Psychosocial Care Team of the 16th Infantry Division and staffed the psychologists’ office of the 414 Military Hospital for Special Diseases.
In 2002 she opened a private psychologist’s office in Karditsa and at the same time she collaborated with the “N. Paideia” educational institutions, coordinated adolescent counselling groups within the framework of the KESYP (Centre for Counselling and Information) of Karditsa and in collaboration with the Development Association of Karditsa she provided counselling sessions to unemployed women and members of minority groups. In 2007 she moved to Piraeus and was appointed as a psychologist at the Korydallos Detention Centre where she provides individual and group psychological support to prisoners, collaborates in the implementation of educational and therapeutic programmes for prisoners, supervises the internship of psychology students and participates in the prison’s administrative bodies.
At ICPS he is an instructor and supervisor in the Counseling Department. He also conducts specialized seminars in the Master’s Program in Forensic Psychology.
