Efrosini Papadimitropoulou

Efrosini was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, USA. While studying criminology in Chicago, she worked extensively in the Cook County Jail and the Chicago Juvenile Court, and gained extensive experience in gang-related issues, juvenile delinquency, the effects of poverty and violent economic crimes (fraud, espionage, etc. in the workplace, businesses, etc.) through internships and research projects. She also did her required internship as an apprentice at the United Stated Environmental Protection Agency (U.S.E.P.A.) offices in Chicago, where she later worked as a legal advisor. In addition, during her studies, she served as a teaching assistant in the Psychology Department at the University of Illinois at Chicago. After completing her Master’s, she worked in legal aid and as a consultant in the research department of the American Bar Association.
Since moving to Greece and for 15 years she has worked as a professor of psychology, criminology and sociology. She has also worked as a translator and consultant at the National Centre for Social Research, on a project on poverty and crime, and as a consultant on several TV programmes and newspaper articles on criminal behaviour here in Greece. Her research interests include economic crime, the sociology of crime and juvenile delinquency and prevention.
At ICPS College, she teaches in the undergraduate Psychology program, the specialized undergraduate program in Forensic Psychology, and the graduate program in Forensic Psychology.
