He was born in Rhodes in 1982. He graduated from the Medical School of the University of Athens in 2006. He completed his military service in Rhodes and his field service in Naxos. For one year, he worked at the General Hospital of Rhodes “Andreas Papandeou”, as a surgical resident in the specialty of Urology. He received the title of the specialty of Urology from the 1st University Urology Clinic of the General Hospital “Laiko” in 2016.
His areas of interest are andrology (erectile dysfunction, fertility disorders, ejaculatory disorders), reconstructive and prosthetic urology (penile prosthesis, continence restoration devices, urethroplasty), functional urology and urological gynecology (urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse).
He holds a Master’s degree (Msc) in Health Care Management, FECSM (Fellow of the European Committee of Sexual Medicine) and PhD Candidate of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.
He has participated in numerous Greek and international conferences and specialization programs in surgical andrology and reconstructive urology, and has been awarded as a presenter of scientific papers at national level. At the same time, he has demonstrated a significant presence as a guest speaker at conferences and has authored articles in Greek and foreign scientific journals and textbooks in urology.
From 2016 until today, he is a Scientific Associate of the 1st University Urology Clinic of the General Hospital “Laiko” and a partner of the Functional Urology, Reconstructive Urology and Andrology clinics. In 2019 he founded feMALE med in Athens and Rhodes, a concept clinic aiming to provide high quality health services in the fields of reconstructive urology, andrology and sexual medicine. Key components of female med are adherence to the latest guidelines and protocols, the application of innovative practices and a multidisciplinary approach to patients. From 2021, she is collaborating with ICPS-College for Humanistic Studies in the postgraduate degree in Psychosexual Therapy with both lectures and student internship.
George Kousournas divides his time between Athens and Rhodes, while he also travels frequently in Greece and abroad for business reasons. In his personal life he loves reading, music, cinema and theatre.
He is an active member of many international (EAU, ESGURS, GURS, ICS, ESSM, ISSM) and Greek scientific communities (EOE, ONOGO, ANDRYPO, EEOGOΓEK)
