Constantinos Pappas

B.Sc., M.Sc., EIA Snr.Pract., Master Trainer

Constantinos was born in Greece and grew up in Jerusalem in the Middle East. After studying Psychology, he specialized in the field of industrial relations and organizational behavior. Immediately after his postgraduate studies, he became a member of the British Psychological Society’s Occupational Psychology Specialty and was active as a researcher and consultant in organisations in the UK, and helped to establish the BPS Special Section on Coaching Psychology. He holds a licence to practice as a Psychologist in Greece and from 2023, he was recognised by the European Coaching and Mentoring Council (EMCC) as a Senior Practitioner.

Upon his return to Greece, he continued his involvement in private higher education since 1995, occupying senior management positions in major colleges in the country. He established new partnerships with universities in the United Kingdom, the United States and Cyprus and was one of the pioneers in developing networks to attract international students to Greece. In 2006 he took over the administration of ICPS.

For nearly 20 years he has been involved in the business and academic administration and development of ICPS. This includes overseeing the academic, administrative, financial, communications and legal functions of the organization. Since 2010 and for two years he served as Secretary General of the World Association of Person-Centred and Focusing-Biometric Counsellors and Psychotherapists. It was the first time that a Greek occupied such a high position in the World Association.

Since mid-2000, he worked closely with the President of the IdEF College, Mr. Manolis Amargianakis, on major issues concerning the application of EU law in our country. Their actions, from 2008-2011, forced the Greek Governments to respect the European standards in the licensing and operation of Colleges in our country. Moreover, in 2012, they established the Recognition of Professional Equivalence, finally giving a way out to thousands of graduates from all the Colleges in the country who were trapped in obscurity and indifference of the state. In 2015, they forced the then Government’s rollback of VAT on education and the withdrawal of this unacceptable measure. While in 2019, they brought back the implementation of the Vocational Equivalence Scheme, which a few months earlier, unthinkingly, had been scrapped by the then outgoing government.

Given his long involvement with issues of legislation for the recognition of foreign degrees in Greece, his initiatives for the establishment of European Law in our country in relation to the operation and recognition of Colleges, he has been a pioneer in the creation of a strong representative body of the Colleges. Thus, since 2017 he has been repeatedly elected to the position of President of the Panhellenic Association of Recognized Colleges which is the largest and most representative body of the Colleges in our country.

At the same time, he works as an executive trainer, business coach and consultant on selection, management and development of human resources in Europe, the USA and the Middle East. He holds the Certificates of Competence in Psychological Testing from the BPS, is a certified Leadership and Communication Trainer from the multinational company Dale Carnegie Training, a certified Coaching Facilitator from the multinational company Corporate Coach U and a member of the training staff of the National Centre for Public Administration and Local Government. He has trained executives of over 30 different nationalities from companies such as Woolworths, Marks & Spencer, Sprider Stores, Trendino Shoes, L’ Artigianno, Danone, Halcor, UPS, Yalko, National Alamo, Sephora, Swarovski, Infoquest, U, Unisystems, Oracle, 5aSec, PEFASYN, Abbott Pharmaceuticals, Pfizer, Merck Serono, Advance Pharmacies, AIG, ETEM, BTI, Sfakianakis Group, Hellenic Sugar Industry, Hellenic Aviation Industry, 3M, Pipelife, Petrom-OMV, Johnsons & Johnsons, Cosmote, Mare Blue and others.

For the last 10 years he has been specializing in emotional mechanisms in decision making and training people in leadership roles, such as the heads of some of the Fortune 500 companies, as well as politicians, on issues of influence and persuasion.

His research interests are in personality, intelligence, emotional intelligence, organizational change, leadership, motivation, teamwork, work-life balance and business coaching.
