Maria is a Clinical Psychologist B.S.c, with a Master of Arts (MA) from Middlessex University, London. She holds a degree in Psychology from Panteion University of Social and Political Sciences. She has further specialised in therapeutic and educational interventions through expressive arts as well as Person-Centred Counselling and Psychotherapy.
She has extensive clinical experience in the field of psychopathology and in the therapeutic treatment and rehabilitation of mental illness. The issues she has dealt with cover a wide range of mental illnesses and dysfunctions such as anxiety, phobias, panic attacks, mood disorders (depression, bipolar disorder), psychoses, compulsions, personality disorders, etc. She also has experience in interpersonal and relational issues, conflict and emotion management, and parent and adolescent counseling.
She has facilitated numerous educational and therapeutic groups, self-improvement, self-awareness, self-esteem enhancement and personal development for individuals and families using the principles of person-centered approach while utilizing art and experiential learning in the educational/therapeutic process.
She is a supervisor of student trainees and humanities volunteers and as a trainer she coordinates various groups of adults and young people in the framework of different collaborations and partnerships at national and European level.
