Maria-Ioanna Argyropoulou

Maria Ioanna completed her undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral studies at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and specialized in Cognitive and Behavioral Therapy at the Institute for Behavioral Research and Therapy. Since 2010, she has been in private practice as a Clinical Psychologist, working in the field of Diagnosis, Counselling and Psychotherapy for children, adolescents and adults.
She worked as a collaborator of the centers “Speech & Learning Development”, “Speech”, as well as the Diagnostic and Therapeutic Unit for Children “Spyros Doxiadis”, where she was involved in psychological diagnoses and cognitive-behavioral psychotherapy and counseling. Her research interests include the study of procrastination and its relationship with volition, mental health, quality of life, health behaviours and problematic computer use. She has also conducted research on early morning dysfunctional patterns in children and adolescents as well as on factors affecting close interpersonal relationships, such as values, dimensions of quality relationships, conflict coping tactics in married couples as well as attachment type, intimacy, verbal expression, trust and criticism.
He has taught undergraduate and postgraduate courses at the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Athens, at the Technical University of Athens, at the Institute for Research & Treatment of Behavior (IETH) and at the Hellenic Society for Behavioral Research (EESR). He is a member of the International Association of Intercultural Psychology (IACCP), the Hellenic Psychological Society, the Hellenic Psychological Society, the IETH and the EEAES and a founding member and former President of the Hellenic Association of Clinical Psychologists. Her scientific activity includes 39 oral presentations in Greek and international conferences, 5 articles in scientific journals, 3 chapters in edited volumes and one chapter in university notes.
Since 2016, Maria-Joanna has been a trainer at ICPS, teaching seminar courses and modules of the Postgraduate Programme in Applied Clinical Psychology.
