Nikoletta Koucharska comes from Larissa and is a Psychologist and Visual Psychotherapist. She studied Psychology at Panteion University and then decided to combine her personal interest in visual arts with her passion for understanding the human soul by following the direction of Visual Psychotherapy.
She completed her Masters in Art Psychotherapy at the University of Hertfordshire in London in 2014 and then remained in London where she worked in the National Health Service (NHS), providing specialist art psychotherapy services in both inpatient and community mental health settings. She has experience with a range of clinical populations including adults with psychiatric disorders, children and adults with autism and mental retardation, addictions, patients with dementia and related disorders. She has trained and practiced Mentalization Based Therapy, an evidence-based psychotherapeutic approach to the treatment of personality disorders. She has attended numerous seminars and continues to educate and enrich her clinical practice.
Since her return to Greece in 2021 she has been teaching the M.Sc. in Art Psychotherapy for Children and Adults at the College of Humanities – ICPS. She is also clinically involved in art psychotherapy for the elderly and patients with dementia. She is also active in the field of perinatal psychology and offers emotional preparation and support services during pregnancy and postnatal period.
She is a full member of the British Association of Art Psychotherapists (BAAT) and is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
