Pericles Papaloukas

B.Sc., M.Sc., Ph.D.

Dr. Pericles Papaloukas was born and raised in Cyprus. He completed his undergraduate studies in Psychology at Panteion University in Athens. He holds a Master’s degree in Health Psychology from the University of Bath, England (MSc Health Psychology). At the same time she holds a PhD in Psychology from De Montfort University, England. His PhD thesis on the Psychosocial Experience of LGBTI people living with MS has been awarded the British Psychological Society’s Citations for Excellence award. He is a Chartered Member (CPsychol) in the British Psychological Society and a member of the Division of Health Psychology. He is a specialist in Health Psychology, LGBTQ+ Health, chronic illness, sexual health/HIV prevention, public health and research methods in psychology (qualitative and quantitative approaches).

Dr Papaloukas has many years of experience in the field of Psychology at research, academic and applied level. He has worked in universities in England and Cyprus as a Lecturer in Psychology where he taught in undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes (e.g. BSc Psychology, MSc Health Psychology, MSc Wellbeing, Doctor of Clinical Psychology). In addition, she designed and worked on research projects and applied intervention programmes in Public Health and Sexual Health in England, funded by Public Health England. He has also worked in the corporate sector as an adult educator and European Programme Coordinator.

Finally, he has worked with people from vulnerable populations and now practices as a Psychologist in Athens, maintaining his own office where he works mainly with Psychodynamic and Existential Approaches and offers training seminars to professionals and the general public on issues related to his specializations.

Dr Papaloukas teaches various courses at undergraduate and postgraduate level at ICPS.
