Vasiliki Baourda

B.Sc., M.Sc., Ph.D.

Vasiliki studied Psychology at Panteion University (2008) and Pedagogy at the Department of Primary Education of the University of Ioannina (2012) in an attempt to combine her two main interests: psychology and children. Her subsequent postgraduate studies (Counselling-Psychology, University of Ioannina, 2013) fully reflect her love for these two subjects. She trained on the ICPS curriculum in Person-Centred Counselling and received her M.Sc. in Person-Centred Counselling and Psychotherapy in collaboration with the University of Strathclyde (2017). In 2018 she completed her PhD studies in Counselling and School Psychology at the University of Ioannina, where she focused on the implementation of group interventions to promote social and emotional skills in children.

She has worked in the field of higher and higher education, teaching Psychology and Counselling courses at TEI of Epirus (Department of Early Childhood Education, 2015-2016), ASPAITE (2019-2020) and the Hellenic Mediterranean University (Department of Social Work, 2019-present).
Since 2013 she has been working privately as a Counseling Psychologist. She specializes in Person-Centered Counseling-Psychotherapy for adults and adolescents and in therapeutic play therapy for children.
At the same time she is active in research by publishing articles in international journals and presenting papers in Greek and international conferences. Her research interests include Person-Centered Counselling and Psychotherapy, Positive Psychology, the implementation and evaluation of group intervention programs for children and adults, as well as the study of the processes that take place during group interventions.
